It was always going to be tiresome this leg, but I did manage to sleep quite a bit thanks to a lovely bed. Watched "The Bridesmaids" but fell asleep just before the end, and also "Hannah". Got to Frankfurt and thought "almost there". How wrong I was. I was patted down by a lady who aqueezed my tits harder than they have bee squeeszed in many a year; had to be taken in to a special room to get my sleep machine tested for explosives, flight was delyaed by 2 hours and had 3 gate changes, travelled further on buses to and fro the plane than on the actual plane, we were so late leaving they only had breakfasts to serve and we got them at about 11.30am (about 6 hours since my last one......I was so hungry I nearly ate the plate).. It was not entirely negative though, as Frankfurt has lovely little "smoking kills" rooms dotted throughout the terminal where you can see some very handsome business men through the fog as you ask for a light. (How come they are allowed to pack a lighter??)
Ataturk Airport in Istanbul is very fastidious in checking passports, especially those from everywhere but Australia. So i wited in a queue for approx 1 1/2 hours to be let through in an instance. It took so long our bag carousel advice had already been taken off. Eventually made it into the heat of Istanbul and resorted to a ciggie before catching a cab who took me to the hotel.
QUESTION: How many cars can fit in 2 lanes of an Istanbul cadessi??
ANSWER: as many as you can
